Jacqueline Lee Katz
Jacqueline Lee is based in Johannesburg, South Africa. She is a South African writer, aspiring filmmaker, actress and businesswoman. She obtained her Masters degree with distinction from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. Her academic writing focuses on the intersection of film theory, queer theory and race & gender studies.
Jacqui-Lee is passionate about producing and disseminating progressive multi media content that foregrounds an array of African and LGBTIQQAA voices on screen. She has worked as a sessional feminist film theory lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand, a dramatic arts teacher at the National School of The Arts in South Africa, and currently works as a coordinating producer while volunteering as the social media manager for an African-based non profit organisation that works with women in film and television. Jacqui-Lee is most excited to represent the African continent as a regular contributor for Her Film Project.
