Filmmaker Jill Jones has spent the past couple of years working on an amazing documentary film on autism and sensory perception, and now her film is up for a vote to be Project of the Week on indiewire. Please go here to vote! (Voting ends on Monday, January 14 at 11:00 a.m. eastern time.)
As of this blog post, Spectrum is in second place. Let's bump it up to #1!!!
Jill has interviewed some unique people about how they see the world. Her film Spectrum is narrated by the famed Dr. Temple Grandin, the most accomplished and well-known person with autism in the world. (She is also a doctor of animal science and professor at Colorado State University. Claire Danes played Dr. Grandin in an HBO film a few years back which earned her a Golden Globe!) Jill has drawn from her personal experiences with autism within her family to inform her film.
If this post hasn't grabbed your attention so far, please check out this moving and eye-opening pitch video from Jill's now-successful Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign. Check out the Spectrum page on Facebook and the Project of the Day page on indiewire for more information. You can also follow the film on Twitter @spectrumthefilm.
(I'm so appreciative of Jill who gave me my first job in film publicity on her film Nanuq, and am happy to be credited as an Associate Producer on Spectrum.)
